News: Victim of Platte County accident identified as Kansas City woman

KANSAS CITY, MO – Authorities released additional details regarding a fatal accident that occurred in Platte County on Wednesday morning, KSHB reports.

 

This is an update to a previous story.

 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the person killed in the crash was 41-year-old Jill L. Buxton of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

State troopers said Buxton was driving a 2020 Isuzu NPR on Interstate 29 north near Platte City at about 7 a.m. when she crashed into the rear of a 1999 Peterbilt 379 truck.

 

Buxton was pronounced dead at the scene.  The truck driver, 82-year-old Nathaniel Hill of Bolivar, Tennessee, was not injured.  State troopers said both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
