News: 2 victims identified in Kansas City public works truck accident

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people killed in the crash of a public works truck in Kansas City last week have now been identified, WDAF reports.

This is an update to a previous story.

The city of Kansas City said the two workers who died in the March 1 incident were Jamaal McDaniel and 47-year-old Huan Doan.

Police said McDaniel lost control of the trash truck while going north on the ramp from the Interstate 435 northbound lanes to Front Street, causing the vehicle to hit a barrier, overturn and catch fire.

Doan was pronounced dead at the scene, while McDaniel passed away later at an area hospital. A third member of the crew was injured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Kansas City police department.

A standard car accident can be difficult enough to deal with. Truck accidents are even more so, since trucks are so much bigger and heavier than the standard vehicle.
