News: Moped rider critically injured after crashing into car at Kansas City intersection

KANSAS CITY, MO – A moped rider was rushed to the hospital following a collision at an intersection in Kansas City on Saturday night, police said.

 

KSHB reports the incident occurred at Northeast Parvin Road and North Corrington Avenue at about 6:45 p.m.

 

Investigators determined that the driver of a white Honda CR-V was starting to accelerate as the light turned green when the moped rider drove into the back of the car.

 

The rider was ejected from the vehicle and was hospitalized with critical injuries. The Honda driver was not injured.

 

The accident is under investigation by the Kansas City Police Accident Investigation Section, which is looking into possible impairment as a factor.
