JACKSON COUNTY, MO – A man was killed when his vehicle was involved in an accident in Jackson County on Wednesday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report, the collision occurred on U.S. 50 Highway at Alley Jackson Road shortly before 8 a.m.
State troopers said a 2015 Ford Transit van crashed into the back of a Ford F-550 pickup truck as the driver of the pickup was trying to make a left turn. The driver of the Transit, 27-year-old Austin Vantine of Bates City, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt at the time. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
