INDEPENDENCE, MO – A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Independence on Thursday night, police said.
According to a report by KSHB, the incident occurred in the area of Missouri Highway 291 and U.S. 24 Highway at about 9:30 p.m.
The male pedestrian, who was in the lane of travel, was struck by a vehicle headed south and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved was not injured in the crash. Police say the driver is cooperating with investigators.
