News: Rollover accident on I-49 south leaves 3 hospitalized

BATES COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said three people were injured when their car was involved in an accident in Bates County on Monday morning.

 

According to the MSHP’s crash report, the incident took place on Interstate 49 southbound at about 7:48 a.m.  State troopers said 18-year-old Marco Rios was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla south on I-49 at the 52 W ramp when the vehicle started to skid, travelled off the roadway and overturned, coming to rest in a ditch.

 

Rios and two passengers, 27-year-old Saudy Rios Ramos and a 16-year-old male, were all transported to Bates County Memorial.  Saudy Rios Ramos and the 16-year-old suffered moderate injuries while Marco Rios had minor injuries.  All three occupants of the car are from Kansas City.

 

The vehicle was totaled and was towed away from the scene.
