News: Raymore man killed when car crashes into ditch off Interstate 49 ramp

PECULIAR, MO – A driver was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Cass County early Thursday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

State troopers and the Peculiar Police Department responded to the wreck on the ramp from Peculiar Way to southbound Interstate 49 shortly after 1:15 a.m.

The MSHP’s crash log states the driver of a 2015 Audi was going south on the ramp to enter I-49 when the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch. The driver, a 38-year-old Raymore man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

The victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers said. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
