KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver was critically injured in a pickup truck accident in Kansas City, Missouri on Sunday afternoon, KCTV reported.
Police said the motorist was driving a Ford F-150 on Interstate 29 southbound and was weaving in and out of traffic when the crash took place at about 12:47 p.m. The Ford went off the roadway in the area of U.S. 169 Highway, continued onto the right shoulder, and collided with the leading edge of the steel guardrail.
The driver was rushed to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition. The person was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, according to police. No one else was in the vehicle.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
