JACKSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a head-on collision in Jackson County Tuesday morning left a driver dead.
The MSHP’s accident report indicated the accident took place on Missouri 150 west of Missouri 7 at 6:44 a.m.
State troopers said the driver of a 2011 Ford F-150 was headed eastbound on MO-150 when the vehicle began to slide, crossed the center of the roadway and struck a westbound 2013 Ford Focus head-on. The Focus traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and a utility pole.
The driver of the Focus, a27-year-old Kyliah Sharkey of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.
