News: Man, woman injured when SUV crashes in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A car accident in Johnson County on Wednesday night sent a man and woman to the hospital, state troopers said.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s accident report stated that the crash took place on 809 SW Highway VV at 8:10 p.m. The driver of a 2023 Chevy Trailblazer SUV was headed west when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert.

 

The driver, 23-year-old Jazimin Mays of Warrensburg, Missouri, and her passenger, 31-year-old James Stephenson of Holden, Missouri, were both transported to Research Hospital with what were described as moderate injuries.  Neither was wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

 

The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
