PECULIAR, MO – An accident involving a school bus in Cass County sent a young girl to the hospital on Tuesday morning.
According to a report by KCTV, the incident occurred near a bus stop in the 21300 block of Pin Oak Lane in Peculiar. A 5-year-old girl approached a First Student bus as it pulled away from the stop, and the bus hit her feet. The student was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.
KMBC reports Peculiar police are checking surveillance video for further details about what happened. First Student will be conducting an internal investigation, with the results being passed along to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office for a determination on whether any charges will be filed.
