News: Woman killed when box truck crashes into vehicle on I-435

PLATTE COUNTY, MO – A woman was killed when her SUV was hit by a box truck in Platte County Monday night, according to WDAF.

 

The crash took place on Interstate 435 near Missouri 152 shortly after 6:30 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2022 Ford Explorer was heading south on I-435 and collided with a deer.

 

The accident left the Explorer disabled and blocking the roadway, where it was then hit by a 2015 Isuzu box truck driven by a 28-year-old man. The Explorer driver, 56-year-old Deborah Yelverton of Kansas City, Kansas, was pronounced dead after being rushed by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital.

 

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
