News: Pedestrian struck, killed by SUV while trying to cross Kansas City street

KANSAS CITY, MO – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Kansas City on Tuesday night, according to a report by KMBC.

 

Kansas City police said the woman was trying to cross Broadway Boulevard when she was struck by the front of a silver Ford Explorer. The driver did not see the pedestrian as she was trying to cross, investigators said.

 

The victim died after being transported to an area hospital. Her name has not yet been disclosed.

 

The driver remained at the scene of the accident and was not suspected of being impaired.

 

Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal crash. They said the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk but mid-block at the time she was struck.
