KANSAS CITY, MO – State troopers in the Kansas City area were responding to numerous accidents Wednesday morning as a snowstorm made driving treacherous.
According to WDAF, the crashes shut down portions of Interstate 49 and Interstate 70 for hours. In one incident, a driver lost control of a semitrailer while traveling in the southbound lanes of I-49 near Peculiar and the vehicle jackknifed.
On I-70, there were at least three wrecks involving multiple vehicles in the Blue Springs area. The roadway was shut down for at least three hours during the morning rush, then was closed again later due to another accident.
