News: Driver injured when car rear-ends pickup on I-35 south in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, MO – A driver was injured when her car slammed into another vehicle on a highway in Clay County Friday morning.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the incident occurred on Interstate 35 southbound at about 6:53 a.m.

 

According to state troopers, the driver of a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck had slowed down for traffic congestion on the highway when it was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Sonic.

 

The driver of the Sonic, 25-year-old Caitlyn Johnson of Kansas City, suffered minor injuries. She was transported by private vehicle to Liberty Hospital.  The driver of the Colorado, 42-year-old James Bailey of Excelsior Springs, was not injured.
