SMITHVILLE, MO – Authorities said a motorcycle rider was killed in a crash involving a total of four vehicles in Clay County Tuesday evening.
According to KSHB, the incident occurred on Highway 169 northbound in Smithville shortly before 5:30 p.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said 21-year-old Samuel M. Reffett of Kansas City was driving a 2013 Honda motorcycle when he crashed into a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier.
Reffett was thrown from the bike and hit two other vehicles, a 2007 Toyota Tacoma and a 2016 Ford Explorer.
Reffett was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. No other injuries were reported.
