KANSAS CITY, MO – Police have announced an arrest in the case of a deadly hit-and-run accident in Kansas City last year, WDAF reports.
The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Terrence Dunlap-Jones Jr. of Kansas City. The incident happened Aug. 12, 2022 in the vicinity of Main Street and Truman Road.
According to investigators, Dunlap-Jones was driving an SUV, possibly a Chevy Tahoe, and had left the scene of a previous crash near 19th Street. Police said he then drove through a red light at the intersection of Main Street and Truman Road and collided with a Chrysler PT Cruiser, which struck a Jeep Wrangler.
The driver of the Chrysler, 41-year-old Kameron Cobbins, was killed in the wreck while a passenger in her vehicle was seriously injured. After an investigation aided by surveillance video from the scene, police were able to track down the Chevy Tahoe involved in the crash. Dunlap-Jones has now been arrested on charges of involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
Police say he was driving with a revoked license at the time of the incident and was driving 48 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone.
