JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri Highway Patrol said a driver was killed in a car wreck in Johnson County last week.
It happened Wednesday at 1256 NE 75th Road at 5:17 p.m., according to the MSHP’s crash report.
An investigation found that the driver of a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Equinox SUV traveled off the left side of the road, striking two fences and a tree. Debris from the crash struck a parked and unoccupied Buick Enclave.
Tee driver of the Equinox, 48-year-old Lee Thomas of Knob Noster, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Johnson County Coroner. He was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
