JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A motorcyclist was injured in an accident in Johnson County on Tuesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
State troopers were called to the scene on westbound U.S. 50 Highway east of NW 375th Road after the incident occurred at about 11:43 a.m.
The MSHP’s report states that the operator of a 2015 Honda Gold Wing was travelling westbound and went off the left side of the roadway. The saddlebags impacted the ground on each side and the bike overturned, ejecting the driver.
The motorcyclist, a 71-year-old man from Jefferson City, Missouri, was seriously injured. He was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department assisted the MSHP with the accident response.
