News: Kansas City police investigating fatal hit-and-run near 14th Street

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police in Kansas City are investigating a hit-and-run crash Sunday that left one person dead, WDAF reports.

 

The incident occurred in the area of Ewing Avenue and 14th Street at about 3:45 p.m.  According to police, two people were in a vehicle when one of them exited the car and the other person started to drive away.  The person who had gotten out then jumped on the vehicle but fell off after it had gone a short distance.

 

That person was hospitalized in critical condition and was pronounced dead about seven hours later.

 

Police said the driver involved in the incident fled the scene afterwards.
