News: Elderly driver seriously injured in 2-vehicle crash in Ray County

RAY COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a driver was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision in Ray County on Monday afternoon.

According to a crash report from Troop A, the accident occurred on Missouri Route 10 at Oak Street at about 2:40 p.m.

81-year-old Shirley L. Davis of Excelsior Springs was driving a 2016 Chevy Malibu when investigators said she crossed over the center line and sideswiped a 2011 Ford F-250. The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway and into a ditch.

Davis, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Liberty Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
