News: Impairment suspected in fatal Kansas City motorcycle accident

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police are investigating a deadly collision between a car and a motorcycle that occurred in Kansas City early Monday morning.

 

KSHB reports the incident happened in the area of East Truman Road and Indiana Avenue just before 2 a.m.

 

An investigation indicated that the driver of a BMW 328i was going at a high rate of speed and crashed into a Yamaha V-Star Classic motorcycle at the intersection.

 

The motorcyclist, whose name was not released, was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.  Police said the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time.

 

The driver of the BMW was not injured in the crash.  Police suspect impairment was a contributing factor in the incident.
