News: Hit-and-run crash in Kansas City leaves child critically injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police are investigating a crash on Tuesday night that left a child critically injured.

 

According to a report by WDAF, the incident happened in front of an apartment complex near East 42nd Street.

 

Officers responding shortly before 10:30 p.m. found the child in the middle of the street after being struck by a westbound vehicle that had been speeding. The driver involved left the scene of the crash, police said.

 

The victim was hospitalized in critical condition before being upgraded to stable condition.

 

Investigators believe a dark-colored vehicle was involved, but did not have further information regarding the vehicle’s make and model.
