News: 3 women seriously injured in collision on Missouri 7 in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY, MO – Three women were injured in a collision in Benton County on Monday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

 

The MSHP’s accident report stated that the incident happened on Missouri 7 at West Dam Access Road at 2:22 p.m.

 

The investigation found that the driver of a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado attempted to make a left turn and failed to yield to approaching traffic. The vehicle collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse that was going west.

 

The driver of the Silverado, 49-year-old Anita Mason of Hermitage, Missouri, the driver of the Traverse, 58-year-old Susan Hankins of Cross Timbers, Missouri, and a passenger in the Traverse, 18-year-old Katelynn Wheeler of Cross Timbers, were seriously injured. All three were transported to University Hospital in Columbia.

 

The vehicles involved were totaled and towed from the scene. The MSHP, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Warsaw Fire and Warsaw/Lincoln EMS all responded to the crash.
