News: Hit-and-run crash at St. John and Oakley leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police in Kansas City said one person was killed and another was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Monday night, KMBC reports.

 

The multi-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of St. John Avenue and Oakley Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. According to investigators, the driver of a Mazda was speeding while going west on St. John Avenue and crashed into a parked Lexus. The Lexus then hit a parked Ford F-150 pickup truck.

 

A female passenger in the Mazda was pronounced dead after being rushed to an area hospital. A passenger in the Ford was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.

 

Police said a male who was driving the Mazda fled the scene on foot. No description of the hit-and-run driver has been released yet.
