News: FedEx driver killed in collision with train near Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL, MO – Authorities are investigating a fatal collision in Cass County between an Amtrak train and a FedEx truck, reports KCTV.

 

The incident occurred Tuesday morning on Hereford Road near 167th Street north of Pleasant Hill. Authorities said the train crashed into the truck at about 9:30 a.m. The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. No details were released on the victim’s identity, or what led to the accident.

 

No injuries were reported among the crew of the train and the 35 passengers on board. The train had departed Kansas City’s Union Station and was bound for St. Louis and Chicago at the time of the incident. The passengers were put on chartered buses to continue to their destinations.
