LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO – A driver was seriously injured in a rollover crash in Lafayette County Tuesday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The MSHP’s accident report stated that the incident happened on Interstate 70 eastbound at the 39.6 mile marker at about 6:20 p.m. State troopers said the driver of a 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan slid off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and the vehicle overturned.

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Stefano Lo Bianco of Kansas City, was transported by Odessa EMS to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment.  He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers said.
