KANSAS CITY, MO – A crash at an intersection in Kansas City Saturday morning left four people injured, one critically, WDAF reports.
According to Kansas City police, the incident occurred after the driver of a Toyota Rav4 failed to stop at a red light while heading east on Northeast 80th Street at about 7:30 p.m. The Toyota collided with a Ford Fusion going north on Missouri 1 Highway.
The Toyota driver, a female who police said was not wearing a seat belt, was hospitalized with critical injuries. Three people in the Fusion sustained minor injuries, a man, woman and an infant. The three were wearing their seat belts and the child was secured in a car seat.
Police are investigating whether driver impairment was a contributing factor in the wreck.
