News: Driver killed when car goes off Ward Parkway, crashes into tree

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police were called to the scene of a fatal car accident early Monday morning, according to the Kansas City Star.

 

The crash occurred in the vicinity of Ward Parkway and 58th Street.  An investigation indicated that the driver of a Volkswagen Passat was going south on Ward Parkway at a high rate of speed at 1:12 a.m.

 

The car went off the roadway just south of 58th Street, went over a curb and collided with a tree.  The driver of the Volkswagen, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.  A passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized in critical condition.
