News: Lee’s Summit man dies after car rear-ends tractor-trailer on I-70

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – A man was killed when his SUV was involved in a rear-end collision on Interstate 70 Tuesday morning, KCTV reports.

 

The incident took place near Interstate 470 at about 8:15 a.m.  According to Independence police, a previous crash had caused traffic to slow down on I-70.

 

During the backup, the driver of an SUV slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer.  The driver of the SUV, identified as 38-yekar-old Joshua Stump of Lee’s Summit, suffered fatal injuries.  A passenger in his SUV was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.  The truck driver was not hurt.

 

Independence police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
