KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash near Van Brunt Boulevard and East 31st Street in east Kansas City, KSHB reported.
Police were called to the scene on Saturday afternoon shortly after 3 p.m. An investigation found that the driver of a Toyota Corolla was headed north at a high rate of speed. The car went off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a traffic signal pole.
The driver, whose identity was not immediately released, was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. No one else was in the car at the time of the wreck, which remains under investigation by the KCPD.
