News: Kansas City woman dead after motorcycle rear-ends vehicle on I-49

KANSAS CITY, MO – A motorcyclist was killed in a rear-end collision on Interstate 49 in Bates County on Monday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

 

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Jennifer Sanford of Kansas City, Missouri.  The MSHP’s investigation found that Sanford was driving a 1999 Suzuki Intruder motorcycle north on I-49 at about 2:45 p.m. when she crashed into the back of a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse that was stopped in traffic at about the 133-mile marker.

 

Sanford was pronounced dead at the scene.  No other injuries were reported.

 

The MSHP was assisted at the crash site by the Bates County Sheriff’s Department and local first responders.
