News: Driver critically injured in high-speed crash in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver was injured in a rollover car wreck in Kansas City early Monday morning, according to KCTV.

Police said the driver of a Chevrolet Corvette was going west on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at a high rate of speed shortly before 3:30 a.m.  The driver was not able to negotiate a curve in the roadway and collided with the center median.

The Corvette overturned multiple times and the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car.

The driver was taken to the hospital and initially listed in critical condition before being upgraded to stable condition.  No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
