News: Arrest made in Kansas City hit-and-run that injured pedestrian

KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver believed to have been responsible for a hit-and-run incident in Kansas City Monday night has been arrested, the Kansas City Star reports.

 

Police officers responded to the scene on Interstate 70 near Sterling Avenue on the city’s East Side after the crash took place at about 8:15 p.m.

 

Investigators learned that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of I-70 and was thrown into the interstate’s eastbound lanes.  The pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

 

The driver left the scene after the collision heading west on I-70.  Police said they located a vehicle of interest near Kansas City International Airport and then arrested the alleged driver.
