BENTON COUNTY, MO – A driver was arrested following a crash in Benton County Monday night that left three people injured, reports KSIS Radio.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said 45-year-old Kimberly M. Martinez was driving a Nissan when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of US Highway 65 and Route AC south of Lincoln at about 8:30 p.m. The Nissan crashed into a southbound Freightliner, causing the Nissan to go off the road and overturn.

Martinez and a passenger, 24-year-old Taylor A. Thompson, were hospitalized with serious injuries.  Another passenger in the Nissan, 34-year-old Chad A. Tidwell Kaska, had moderate injuries.  All three are Lincoln residents.   The Freightliner driver, 60-year-old Kenneth J. Hicks, was not injured.

Following the wreck, Martinez was arrested on charges of felony driving while intoxicated resulting in a crash with injuries, and failure to stop at a stop sign.
