News: 3 injured in accident involving wrong-way driver on Holmes Road

KANSAS CITY, MO – A collision in southeast Kansas City involving a wrong-way driver early Saturday morning left three people injured.

 

The Kansas City Star reports the accident happened in the area of Holmes Road and 117th Street shortly after 1 a.m. Investigators determined that the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was speeding while driving south in the northbound lanes of Holmes Road. The driver of a GMC Envoy who was making a turn to go north on Holmes Road collided with the pickup truck, causing the Ford to overturn.

 

The pickup driver was listed in critical condition after being transported to an area hospital, while the driver and passenger of the SUV suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized.
