CLAY COUNTY, MO – Two people were hospitalized following an accident at intersection in Clay County Tuesday evening, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

In a crash report, Troop A said the collision occurred in the area of Missouri Route 92 and Cameron Road at about 5 p.m.  According to troopers, 45-year-old Stacie E. McDowell was driving a 2017 Volkswagen when she failed to yield at the intersection.  Her car struck the side of a 2013 Ford.

The driver of the Ford, 57-year-old Robert R. Cox and his passenger, 54-year-old Stancia M. Skinner, both suffered what were described as moderate injuries and were transported to Liberty Hospital. The two, both Excelsior Springs residents, were wearing their seat belts at the time.
