KANSAS CITY, MO – A teenager died following a multi-vehicle collision in Kansas City last week, WDAF reports.
The Kansas City Police Department said the driver of a Toyota Corolla was speeding while going west on NW 68th Street Tuesday evening when the accident happened shortly after 6:10 p.m.
The Toyota crashed into an eastbound Chevy Impala that was making a turn onto Waukomis Drive. The Toyota went on to hit a Volkswagen that was stopped at a traffic light, then hit a traffic signal pole, went off the road and down an embankment.
A backseat passenger in the Toyota was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as 17-year-old Drew J. Price. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt at the time. The driver and front seat passenger, who were wearing their seat belts, sustained minor injuries. The two other drivers were not hurt in the crash.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
