CASS COUNTY, MO – State troopers said a car crash in Cass County Sunday left one person dead and two others seriously injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report, troopers responded to the scene on Route D at 166th Road shortly after 1:50 p.m.
Investigators determined that the driver of a 1997 Honda was going southbound at high speed when the driver of a 1984 Chevrolet entered into his path and the Honda collided with the Chevrolet. The Honda driver, 44-year-old Charles Puhr of Grandview, was pronounced dead after being taken to Belton Regional.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 48-year-old Chad Bilyeu, and his 48-year-old passenger Kristen Bilyeu, both from Belton, were taken to the same hospital in serious condition. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department and the Belton Police Department responded to the crash scene.
