News: Man sentenced to 13 years for fatal drunk driving accident in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, M O – A man was sentenced to prison for causing a deadly accident in Kansas City in June 2022, reports KMBC.

 

31-year-old Zachary Zorich of Prairie Village, Kansas was ordered to serve 13 years behind bars for the incident.

 

Kansas City police said Zorich was driving at high speed on 75th Street and went through a red light at Ward Parkway.  His vehicle struck a Mercedes-Benz, killing a man in the other vehicle, 26-year-old Remington Williams.

 

The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office said Zorich pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated resulting in death.  It was reported by KCTV that his blood alcohol was over 2.5 times the legal limit.

 

Williams was a student representative on the University of Missouri’s Board of Curators.
