News: 3 injured, 2 seriously, when trucks collide on Missouri 52

PETTIS COUNTY, MO – Three people were injured, two seriously, in a collision in Pettis County early Saturday morning.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report said the accident occurred on Missouri 52 west of B Highway shortly after 2 a.m.

 

According to state troopers, the driver of a westbound 2012 GMC truck traveled into the opposite eastbound lane and struck a 1993 Ford truck.

 

The driver of the Ford, 42-year-old Thomas West, and his passenger, 28-year-old Trisha Swindler, were hospitalized with serious injuries.  Both are residents of Clinton, Missouri.  The driver of the GMC, 21-year-old Carsen Gerke of Windsor, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment.  None of those involved were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
