KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police are searching for the driver involved in a collision with a pedestrian on Tuesday morning.
A report by KMBC states the victim was struck near Wilson Avenue and Belmont Boulevard at about 11:30 a.m.
Investigators learned that the driver of a semi-truck, tractor and trailer was going south on Belmont Boulevard and turned too sharply while making a turn, causing the vehicle to jump a curb and go through the median.
The trailer hit the pedestrian standing on the sidewalk, then crashed into a telephone pole.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition. Police said the driver left the scene without stopping to help.
