KANSAS CITY, MO – A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian in Kansas City Monday afternoon, Fox4KC reports.
The fatal collision occurred in the area of eastbound Interstate 70 and the exit ramp to The Paseo.
Responding police officers learned that the victim, a woman, was standing or walking on the outside shoulder of the interstate at about 3 p.m. She was hit near the exit ramp by an unknown vehicle. The driver involved was reported to have left the scene without stopping to help.
Kansas City police are continuing to investigate the incident, which temporarily shut down the exit to Interstate 670. The name of the victim was not immediately released.
