News: Woman, 2 children hurt when car collides with dump truck on Missouri 2

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A woman and two children were injured when their vehicle was involved in a crash in Johnson County on Tuesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol released details regarding the wreck, which occurred in the area of Missouri 2 and SW 1651st Road at about 2 p.m.

State troopers said the driver of an eastbound 2000 Ford F-150 crossed over the center line, causing the driver of a 1998 Mack dump truck to swerve to avoid a collision.  The Ford struck the front left tire of the dump truck, causing the Ford to go off the roadway, where it overturned and came to rest on the passenger side.

The driver of the Ford, a 29-year-old woman, and two passengers, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, suffered moderate injuries.  The woman was transported to Truman Medical Center, while the children were taken to Children’s Mercy.  All three are from Holden, Missouri.

None of the injured were wearing seat belts, the MSHP said.
