News: Woman injured when vehicle crashes into her Kansas City restaurant

KANSAS CITY, MO – The owner of a Kansas City restaurant was critically injured Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into her business, according to KCTV.

The accident happened at In-A-Tub in the vicinity of Prairie View Road and NW 83rd Street in the Northland area shortly before 4 p.m.  Kansas City police learned that the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck had pulled into a parking spot when the vehicle suddenly accelerated and drove through the side of the fast-food restaurant.

The owner was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.  “She is recovering from surgery with a long road ahead,” the restaurant said in a Facebook post. “This is our main priority. At this time, we ask for your prayers of healing, mentally and physically.”

The restaurant will be closed until further notice while the damage is being repaired.  Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
