News: Woman charged with DWI in Ray County rollover crash that killed passenger

RAY COUNTY, MO – An alleged drunk driver has been charged in connection with a fatal wreck that occurred in Ray County early Saturday morning, KSHB reports.

The crash happened on Brady Creek Road east of Southpoint Drive at about 12:45 a.m.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the driver of a Ford Fusion ran off the roadway and the vehicle overturned.

A 14-year-old boy from Richmond, Missouri, the only passenger in the car, died at the scene.  The driver of the Ford was identified by authorities as 18-year-old Madelynn Carroll of Richmond.

The report cites court documents which said Carroll admitted to a deputy that she drank prior to the accident. She was subsequently arrrested and charged with driving while intoxicated resulting in the death of another.  She was also cited for failing to drive on the right side of the road and not maintaining vehicle insurance.
