KANSAS CITY, MO – The victim of a head-on collision in Kansas City last Friday morning has been identified by authorities, according to WDAF.

The Kansas City Police Department said the person who died in the wreck was 50-year-old Lori Broderick.

The incident took place in the area of North Platte Purchase Drive and Northwest 82nd Street shortly before 7:30 a.m. An investigation determined that the driver of a Tesla 3 was speeding while heading south on North Platte Purchase Drive. The vehicle did not turn with the curve of the road, went over the yellow center line and collided with a northbound Buick Encore driven by Broderick.

Broderick died after being taken to an area hospital. She was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred, police said. The Tesla driver was hospitalized with critical injuries.
