KANSAS CITY, MO – A truck accident in Lee’s Summit on Thursday afternoon sent the driver to the hospital and disrupted traffic in the area.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report states that the incident took place on the Interstate 470 southbound ramp to Missouri Highway 291 southbound.
According to state troopers, the driver of a 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling westbound in lane 3 at about 12:25 p.m. when the truck travelled off the roadway, went into the median, and overturned.
The driver, a 41-year-old man from Irving, Texas, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment.
The MSHP said the semi did not spill any hazardous materials. Drivers took the Colbern Road exit off the interstate until the scene was cleared.
