News: Teenager seriously injured when UTV overturns in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a teenager was hospitalized following a UTV accident in Johnson County on Saturday evening.

 

According to the MSHP’s accident report, the incident happened in the vicinity of SW 75th Road east of SW 1501 Road.

 

State troopers said the driver of a 2021 Polaris Ranger was turning around at the intersection at about 7 p.m. when the vehicle overturned.

 

One occupant of the vehicle, a 16-year-old girl from Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was seriously injured and transported by EMS to Children’s Mercy Hospital.  Another occupant, a 16-year-old boy from Kingsville, Missouri, sustained minor injuries.  Both were wearing seat belts.

 

The MSHP was assisted at the scene by the Holden Police Department, Johnson County Fire Department, and Johnson County EMS.
