News: Teenage driver crashes while fleeing from Clay County sheriff’s deputies

CLAY COUNTY, MO – A teenage driver crashed in Clay County early Saturday morning while trying to elude law enforcement authorities, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

According to state troopers, a 15-year-old boy was driving a 2019 Dodge Challenger as he was fleeing from Clay County Sheriff’s Deputies.

At about 3:51 a.m., the teen drove off the right side of the roadway on westbound Missouri 291 just west of Main Street in Liberty.

The car struck a light pole, hit a 2023 Ford Edge, and then slid into a house.  The driver, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, was taken to Liberty Hospital with moderate injuries.
